Position: Interior Designer
Location: Indianapolis, IN
American Structurepoint is looking for a bright, creative, ambitious, and passionate problem solver to become the next member of our architecture and interior design team.
Successful candidates will share our passion for design and have the commitment to not only meet our high standard of excellence, but to continue to push the boundaries and raise the bar in our expanding and evolving architectural practice. Our design process fully embraces the latest in technology. Candidates should have an aptitude for using and learning advanced software and digital modeling techniques.
Responsibilities Will learn from and work with our Senior Designers on a diverse range of project typesWork directly with Senior Designers and Project Architects through Programming, Visioning, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documentation phases of a projectCoordinate with Architects and Consultants to refine design elements throughout all phasesPerform 3D modeling for development of design concepts and client presentation needs utilizing SketchupAssist in the development of design documentation utilizing Revit including 3D models, plans, programming, visioning, material presentations, and FF&E packagesRegularly communicate with manufacturer representatives to order samples, confirm and negotiate pricing, and coordination installation needs for drawing documentationFormulate design options that are practical, aesthetic, and supportive of the clients’ business objectives Communicate with Contractors as needed during both design and construction to provide design direction and clarification Coordinate with specification writer to ensure CSI specifications support the design intent
Qualifications Completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited program. 3+ years of relevant design experience is requiredMust demonstrate a strong design portfolio with an emphasis on graphics and visualization to effectively communicate design ideasExtensive experience in the design and documentation processMust have strong technical knowledge of interior constructionHas familiarity with sustainable design conceptsNCIDQ certified or have goals to pursue interior design certification or licensure are preferredA LEED AP with Specialty, WELL AP, or FitWel credential or ability to obtain within one year of hire date Excellent Sketchup, Revit, and InDesign modeling ability is highly preferredPrevious experience and desire to lead design projects is highly preferred
