Job Title: Interior Designer
Job Description

We are seeking a talented Interior Designer who is client-facing, ensuring strong relationships and satisfaction. You will oversee and mentor junior staff to foster their development and align their efforts with company goals. You will craft proposals for new projects, partnerships, or business opportunities to drive growth and innovation. You will create functional and aesthetic designs that enhance living spaces based on client needs, plan the use and layout of space, and decorate with color, furniture, fixtures, etc. You will develop drawings, presentations, and cost estimates, coordinate the work of contractors, and oversee all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration through installations. Additionally, you will schedule, prepare, and lead design meetings with clients and contractors.

ResponsibilitiesCraft proposals for new projects, partnerships, or business opportunities to drive growth and innovation.Create functional and aesthetic designs that enhance living spaces based on client needs.Plan the use and layout of space and decorate with color, furniture, fixtures, etc.Develop drawings, presentations, and cost estimates.Coordinate the work of contractors.Research, design, select, specify, and document furniture, fixtures, lighting, finishes, millwork, etc.Oversee all phases of each project, including conceptual design to construction administration through installations.Schedule, prepare, and lead design meetings with clients and contractors.Mentor and oversee junior staff to foster their development and align their efforts with company goals.Essential Skills5+ years of interior design experience for high-end single-family residential projects (7,000+ sqft)Proficiency in Sketchup and AutoCADAbility to bring Interior Design projects from inception through completionExperience in single-family residential, new construction, architectural design, construction, schematic design, design development, and renderingStrong skills in space planning, Photoshop, and interior architectureAdditional Skills & Qualifications7+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in interior designAbility to work on 6,000 sqft - 10,000 sqft homes with design budgets of up to $10 millionFull understanding of residential construction sequenceProject management, new construction, and renovation experienceExcellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environmentStrong organization and time management skillsTeam player with a willingness to learn and guide junior members of the teamStrong communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-starter who can work both in a team and independentlyProficiency in Project Management Software, AutoCAD, Excel, Photoshop, Sketchup, and the Microsoft SuiteKnowledge of high-end furniture, finishes, materials, vendors, and fabricatorsWork Environment

Our work environment is energetic and the office space is open. Everyone jokes around and gets along. The office is sleek, modern, and very well decorated, providing a super nice place to work. The firm has about 15 employees and is one of the largest firms in New Jersey specializing in high-end single-family custom homes. The workspace is collaborative, with music playing and a fun atmosphere. We are in the office five days a week. Projects are very large-scale, ranging from 7,000 sqft to 10,000 sqft with design budgets up to $10 million. The typical project life cycle is three years, and employees typically work on 2-3 projects at any given time.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr.
