Arcadis is seeking an Interior Designer to join our Workplace Practice Group in the Washington, DC Area. The successful candidate will have project delivery experience in corporate workplace interiors and will support projects in Washington DC area, as well as potential other East Coast locations. We are looking for a creative, organized, and self-motivated individual who is a self-starter and can work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation and documentation abilities.
A solid understanding of finish materials, furniture consulting, and applicable reference standards is essential. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of building and accessibility codes/standards and be capable of delegating tasks, mentoring, and training intermediate and junior designers.
The ability to multi-task, follow through on assignments, and meet deadlines is crucial. Additionally, strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and an excellent team player, with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Role accountabilities:
Individuals will work in all aspects of design – programming, space planning, material selections/specifications, construction documents, and furniture selection/specificationParticipate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting. Actively participate in the construction document processMeet with finish and furniture vendorsParticipate in meetings and can present to clientsManage multiple projects to deliver all phases of the projectDemonstrate a clear understanding of the architectural design process and how to effectively integrate interior elements and concepts with minimal supervisionReview preliminary space plans and design concepts to ensure code, accessibility, and functional requirements are metReview shop drawings and submittalsProduce innovative design concepts that meet the client and project needs while also respecting the project budgetContribute to and develop solutions to technical and design problemsConceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization, including graphics
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design8-10 years’ relevant interior design experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Proficiency in REVIT is requiredNCIDQ preferredLEED and/or WELL accreditation preferredMust be geographically located in the Washington, DC area.
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000 year (depending on years of experience and location).
