Job DescriptionOur NYC Interiors studio is actively seeking a dynamic Interiors Practice Leader for our Buildings + Places business unit who will function as the practice leader to grow, inspire and build the Interiors practice in the NY Metro area market.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and grow current client relationships including early client positioningLead the development and execution of the Interior’s marketing strategy at the local and regional business unit level collaborating with regional leadership and other market sectors leadersLeverage network of professional business contacts and build external and internal cross market/discipline networkLead pursuit strategy for RFQ/RFP responses including, project approach, scope of work development, fee preparation, and interview preparation and interview.Ensure positive client, consultant, contractor and jurisdictional satisfaction, grow our presence in the marketWork with marketing team in development of marketing material and proposal preparation
Leadership/Staff Development:
Serve as a mentor by coaching teams and individuals; grows and develops the group and individual membersResponsible for performance development, prepare and deliver staff evaluations, and determine workload allocationParticipate in interviews and recruiting of professional staff and build appropriate staff levelsEncourage staff exploration, innovation and design excellenceKeep abreast of new technology, materials, methods and developments in his/her specific fieldMaintain membership and activity in appropriate industry organizations and be an active member of the design community
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture plus 10 years of related experience with a multi-disciplinary Architectural and Engineering firm, with at least 2 years of experience acting in a leadership or practice-building capacity or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education3 years of Marketing, Design and/or Project Management experience for Commercial InteriorsRegistered Interior Designer OR Architect with current licensePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
15 years of related experience including 10+ years acting in a leadership or management capacity is strongly preferredDemonstrated Business Development capabilitiesDemonstrated ability to grow a practice and meet planned revenue targetsStrong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills including both verbal/presentation and writtenExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills• Be able to respond to changing demandsStrong leadership and team building skills with strong initiativeAbility to work under pressureExperience in marketing, design, project management and practice-building/business developmentAdditional InformationRelocation is not available for this positionSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this positionAbout AECOM
