About the role

We’re looking for an Intermediate or Senior Underwriter to join our growing Specialty Lines Farm team!

This is a hybrid role and you can be based out of London or Ottawa.

What you’ll do here:

Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend solutions

Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies

Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company

Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events

Provide ongoing support in expanding the department, and make recommendations for process improvements

Rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals

Handle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations.

As directed, generate letters and memos to brokers from the system.

Support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact


What you bring to the table:

University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset

Analytical, self-motivated and strive to deliver at a high standard

Initiative and ability to work under pressure

Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills

Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers

Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry

CIP designation or working towards it

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
