Intermediate Project Engineer

Description

Our client is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression, gas processing, and heavy oil facilities, and is actively advancing the development of products related to the decarbonization of energy production. By integrating comprehensive engineering services and first-in-class modular fabrication capacity with complete construction services, Propak designs and builds industry-leading hydrocarbon processing facilities for installation around the world.

The Intermediate Project Engineer lead the coordination of project execution in accordance with client requirements and objectives, within cost and schedule constraints, and in adherence to quality procedures and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

The day-to-day activities vary depending on the timing and complexity of the project; however, the typical expected responsibilities include:

•\tCoordinating specific multi-discipline functions or areas within the project scope encompassing engineering, procurement, fabrication, and commissioning (as applicable).

•\tManaging interfaces with key project stakeholders.

•\tEnsuring that the level of performance is in accordance with the contract specifications, within the budget limits, and that the execution of the project progresses as set down in the contract and the project baselines.

•\tManaging project scope and change management submissions and processes.

•\tLiaising with Project Planners-Schedulers and Project Cost Controls personnel, to prepare reports on project status and progress on a regular basis.

•\tParticipating in Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID) reviews, and Hazardous Operability Studies (HAZOPs).

•\tPreparing and reviewing line, equipment, instrumentation, and specialty items lists

•\tCoordinating and assisting with the sizing and selection of the project’s instrumentation and process equipment.

•\tParticipating in Bid / Evaluate / Award process including development of Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, bid evaluations, and Bill of Material (BOM) entry into Enterprise Resource Planning software.

•\tChecking vessel, structural, steel, piping spooling, assembly, and civil drawings.

•\tParticipating in 3D model reviews and construction planning meetings.

•\tCoordinating and reviewing the compilation of the Project Data and Operating Manuals for distribution to the project team and client.

•\tPerforming shop inspections and resolving Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).

•\tReviewing ship loose lists.

•\tResolving field Requests for Information (RFIs).

•\tSupervising junior or co-op student project engineers on temporary task level basis.

Qualifications:

•\tProfessional Engineer registered and in good standing with Alberta Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA).

•\t3-5 years of oil and gas industry experience.

•\tAn undergraduate degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited University.

•\tMust be eligible to work in Canada.

MUST HAVES:

-4-10 years of project engineering experience

-Chemical or Mechanical Engineer experience

-P.Eng (APEGA CERTIFIED) Stamping is required in this role

-Executed project management and has vendor management skills

-Package work (working on skids, compressors, any sort of large packages)

-Strong communication, this person is going to be having to communicate with clients

Nice to haves:

-Fabrication Experience

-Rotating equipment experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
