What a day at EXP has in store for you
Building envelope design review of architectural drawings and specifications
Review of submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests and requests for information
Mock-up review, plant visits and witness testing
Attendance of meetings with the Architects, Clients, Contractors and Trades
Assessment of building envelope assemblies in existing buildings
Report writing and review of reports from junior staff members
Providing mentoring and guidance to junior staff
Design and preparation of construction documents of building envelope assemblies in restoration
Preparing proposals
Preparing specifications and drawings for rehabilitation and design projects
Conducting construction contract administration and construction review services
Performing building condition assessments, performance audit, asset and property review/assessment, reserve fund studies, design, and coordinating various building repair(s)
Liaising with clients, building strong client relationships, and generating new business
What your experience looks like
10+ years of technical experience in building science with proven ability to manage projects and help facilitate business development
Professional Engineer or Professional Licensee in Engineering registered with APEGA is required
REWC, RWC, RRC, RBEC, or other related designation is considered an asset
Knowledge of NECB, NBC, NBC-AE, various ASTM testing standards related to building envelope testing (e.g. ASTM E1105, ASTM E1186)
Experience in new construction, envelope assessments and restoration projects
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers
An excellent team builder with the ability to motivate people
