Job Title: Intermediate/Senior Piping Designer

Job Description

We are an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression, gas processing, and heavy oil facilities. We are actively advancing the development of products related to the decarbonization of energy production. By integrating comprehensive engineering services and first-in-class modular fabrication capacity with complete construction services, we design and build industry-leading hydrocarbon processing facilities for installation around the world. Due to a continued increase in project work, we are eager to meet with experienced piping designers who can quickly adapt to our processes and procedures.

ResponsibilitiesCarry out moderate-to-advanced tasks related to the layout and design of process equipment modules for oil and gas processing facilities under supervision.Create and develop 3D models and piping designs.Assist in the creation and development of detailed designs for structural steel skids and pipe supports.Revise existing designs based on vendor drawings and changes from stress analysis updates.Manage design information and assemble checking packages.Create and develop layout drawings and detailing of piping.Produce piping isometrics, structural drawings, and fabrication drawings.Receive and review design data and vendor information.Calculate piping components and pre-order materials.Receive and incorporate design specifics from Engineering and other disciplines.Collaborate with Piping Checkers, Mechanical Engineering, and the Fabrication Shop.Provide weekly progress and status reports to the Lead Designer.Assist design leads and designers as required.Provide project-related training to junior personnel as required.Essential Skills10+ years of experience as a piping designer.10+ years of experience working with ASME B31.3.3+ years of experience with 2020 version highly preferred.1+ year of experience.Diploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT), Process Piping Design (PPD) certificate, or recognized equivalent combination of training and experience in piping design.5+ years of experience assisting in the creation of 3D models and general layout drawings.Strong design skills in piping systems, structural supports, and pressure vessels.Proficiency in AutoCAD or higher.Strong skills in the 2020 version or higher.Understanding of design and drafting practices for piping components.Knowledge and familiarity.Strong skills in Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & QualificationsFabrication experience is an asset.Fabrication shop designing experience is an asset.As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement, and a Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00
