Intermediate Transportation Engineer
Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with an Edmonton-based company to hire an Intermediate Engineer with transportation and land development experience to join our team. The successful candidate should have 5-10 years’ of experience in transportation engineering design.
 
Responsibilities: 
Duties of this position may include, and are not limited to:Managing and Designing engineering aspects of urban and urban roadway projects.Preliminary and detailed design of active mode projects including bike lanes, pathways, and enhanced pedestrian spaces.Coordination with subconsultants, including landscape architects and urban planners to deliver complete street designs.Urban Design Analysis and detailed design for neighbourhood roadway and alley renewal projects.Preparing traffic impact assessments for residential, commercial and industrial developments.Experience with Synchro Studio, Sida, and Vistro transportation analysis software.Computer Assisted Design duties, using AutoCad and Civil 3D.Managing projects from conceptual design through preliminary engineering to construction completion while applying technical knowledge and experience. Delivering projects within established timeframes and budgets.Assistance with the design of land development transportation projects that are assigned, including coordination with sub-consultants and liaison with City approval authorities as required.Contract administration for construction projects in the Edmonton region, including close liaison with City Inspection staff.Coordination with the Clients as it falls within your scope of work, to ensure the Client’s needs are fulfilled.Planning, organizing, and directing resources to best serve the needs of our clients.Qualifications:
A degree in Engineering from a recognized school with a minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation engineering.Be immediately qualified to be registered with APEGA as a P.Eng.Knowledge in transportation, municipal, and land development engineering design, including the design of municipal and related infrastructure including roads, related utilities and grading.Ability to build relationships with new and existing clients.Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.Experience in leading and dealing directly with design teams, clients and approval agencies.Proven business development and proposal writing skills.
