Job Description
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the primary role of the Project Engineer Intern (PE) is to manage the planning, coordination, and execution of the project from start to finish in coordination with the Construction Team. Our Project Engineers collaborate with the Assistant Project Manager and Superintendents making sure the project meets schedule, budget, and quality. Working out of a job site, this position will be managing one project at a time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Project Management
Working with the Construction Team to complete the documentation and distribution for all Requests for Information (RFI), and inquiries for and from the design team.Assume ownership for coordinating, tracking, and expediting all project shop drawings, submittals, and correspondence.Managing and tracking delivery of all materials to the project. Ensuring materials follow the contract documents and approved shop drawings/submittals.Working with the Project Manager to report and maintain all the change order documentation.Assisting Project Managers and Superintendents with the supervision and coordination of subcontractors’ field installation.Working with Construction Team to perform monthly schedule updates and distributing it out to Development as well as Subcontractors/Vendors.Maintaining project status and progress reports to Construction Team including Submittal and RFI Logs, and Material Tracker.Managing and tracking project close-out document including warranties, O&M, and as-builts drawings.Ensuring that all site personnel have the most current set of drawings.Participating in all project meetings, taking meeting minutes and distributing to all project team members.Quality Control
Reviewing design documents and submittals thoroughly to ensure all required details are provided and coordinated amongst themselves.Managing the three-phase quality control program for each feature of work:Pre-installation meetingFirst install verificationOngoing observationsEngaging manufacturers and AHJ, if applicable, in a proactive manner to ensure their requirements are incorporated into the process in time.Safety
Working side-by-side with the Construction Team and with consultation from Safety Manager, ensuring a safe work job site for not only RangeWater employees but all Subcontractors and general public.Overseeing required compliance and all necessary reporting in accordance with RangeWater Construction’s Safety Program.Must be able to meet predictable attendance and punctuality expectations and physical demands of the position complying with RangeWater’s policies and performance expectations.
Organizational Responsibilities:
•Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s)
•Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor/resident injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s)
•Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the property's efficiency, profitability, and productivity
•Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, leasing and sales tools, processes ,and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.
Work Hours (may vary by state or location): Company hours of operation are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday. Non-Exempt employees are expected to keep track of work hours on a manual time sheet. Must be able to perform the essential job functions unaccompanied.
