JOB DESCRIPTION:

Intern Assignment:

The KBC Design Validation Intern is a key position that will assist in various activities to support the Testing and Commissioning Department in operating efficiently.

Essential Functions:

•  Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment and ensure the compliance with company's rules and policies.

•  Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules, guidelines and regulations.  Be energy conscious, if applicable.

•  Must understand and comply with applicable standards. ( i.e.: ISO 9001, ISO 22163, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, AAR, and CMMI).

•  Maintain and safeguard business records.

1. Assisting Design Validation personnel in the design, fabrication, and validation of System functional Test Racks. This includes the design and fabrication of mechanical and electrical components.

2. Assisting Design Validation personnel in the design, fabrication, validation, and performance of component qualification/investigative tests.  As experience is gained, the candidate will take over responsibility of these tasks and handle them from start to finish.

3. Assist with day-to-day activities of the Design Validation Department in a wide variety of tasks across the Brakes, Doors, and HVAC business units. Use skills learned to troubleshoot and investigate issues that may arise in the lab.

4. Must be able to comply with quality, product safety, and HSE rules and regulations. Be energy conscious, if applicable.

Education:

High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience:

0-2 Years Relevant Experience

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Student should be a current college student. Engineering Field of Study. GPA 3.0 or higher.

Work Environment:

Office Environment, including use of computer terminal. Primarily operates in a climate-controlled, shop floor production environment. Employee may be exposed to noise, heat, cold, dust, and dirt.

Physical Demands:

Sitting, standing, walking, alternate sitting or standing at will, crouching, pushing or pulling, stopping, reaching overhead, kneeling, lifting or carrying a maximum of 50 LBS.

Our internships are not all work. We are located in Westminster, MD, close enough to visit Baltimore or DC to visit frequently. Our interns begin work as early as the end of May and work until the middle of August. Expect 40 hours per week.
