Job Description Summary

The co-op student will be responsible for assisting the Engineering and Validation department in various projects related to Computer Systems and Manufacturing Equipment. 

The student will work closely with the department staff to support ongoing projects, contribute to the development of new projects, and gain hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

The co-op student will be responsible for assisting the Engineering and Validation department in various projects related to Computer Systems and Manufacturing Equipment. 

The student will work closely with the department staff to support ongoing projects, contribute to the development of new projects, and gain hands-on experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

In partnership with the site leaders sponsors a quality and compliance focused site culture which embraces RFT (right first time) and CI (continuous improvement) expectations.

All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures.

Scope of Authority -

Co-Op, Operations at Rochester, MI manufacturing supports indirect supervision of personnel across a shift.

This Co-Op position is a continuous roll that works around the student's school schedule, meeting a minimum amount of hours per guidelines of the Co-Op work expectations.

Security-sensitive (highly sensitive) position under the Controlled Substance Abuse Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design, development, and implementation of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment, including computer systems, databases and reports.Update CAD drawings with current as-built state of facilities and equipment.Maintain Technical Library.  Manage library database.Conduct experiments on new technology, document results and provide feedback and training.Support the development and execution of equipment validation protocols, including IQ, OQ, and PQ.Participate in equipment commissioning and start-up activities, including installation and factory testing.Collect and analyze process data, and use statistical tools to identify trends and improve process performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and achieve department goals.Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, and prepare reports and presentations as required.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.Strong academic record, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical software.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Familiarity with cGMP and FDA regulations is preferred.Availability to work full-time during the co-op term.
