Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Develop a common application platform using bleeding edge opensource software stack Work with an enterprise applications development team building new applications for internal users and employees 

Education & Experience

Currently pursing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.  Familiar with open source tools like API gateways, Schedulers, CI/CD, Log analysis, Reporting and dash boarding. Experience and/or interest in some (not all) of the following: NodeJS, React Native, Angular JS, VueJS, MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, Java.  Excited about using latest opensource software & frameworks, methodologies & tools.  Not afraid to evaluate/try new methodologies/frameworks/tools to improve development process and/or user experience. 

Skills

Not afraid to evaluate/try new methodologies/frameworks/tools to improve development process and/or user experience.  Excited about joining a team that is focused on building next generation platform that will be used by employees around the world.  Have past application development Internship or Project experience is a plus.  Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.

Working Conditions

This position is onsite Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job May require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours to accommodate project

Physical Requirements

Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings. Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents. Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Mobility within the office environment to attend meetings or interact with colleagues.
