We're seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented individual to join our Healthcare Information Management team as a Healthcare Records Intern!

You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and accessible patient medical records.

What Will You Do?

Data Entry: Accurately input patient information into our electronic health records (EHR) from various sources, ensuring data integrity and compliance with HIPPA regulations.
 

Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks such as scanning and filing documents.

What's Available?

Internship Duration: October 2024 through January 2025

Hours: Ability to work 15-20 hours per week
 

Schedule: Hours can vary, Monday-Friday between 7:00am-5:00pm.
 

Location: Onsite at our Onalaska, WI Support Services Building

What Do You Need?

Currently in or graduated from an Associate's, Bachelors Program focused in healthcare or health information management or a related field

Strong computer skills

Epic knowledge is preferred but not required

Comfortable working independently

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Description:

Gundersen Health System provides a professional hands-on experience tailored to meet the interests of the interns in conjunction with the current activities of the department. Internships are available to students who have graduated from or are currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelors or master's degree program.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Performs job-related responsibilities as requested.

2. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.

Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Post High School education in a specialized field:
Currently in or graduated from an Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's Program in a related field.

Work Experience:
DESIRED
1 year in a related field.
