AGCO is seeking a talented, passionate, and highly motivated Manufacturing & Costing Engineer Intern to join our Grain & Protein Manufacturing Engineering team based in Assumption, IL. This is a paid, full-time internship during the summer of 2025 at our Grain & Protein headquarters in Assumption, IL. Housing is provided for students who reside more than fifty miles from Assumption. Students are required to work forty hours per week on-site at our Assumption office from May through August 2025.

 

Your Impact

Lead and participate in the completion of pre-production activities. Including the development of standard production rates, supporting the development of production routings, execution of production fixtures and quality gauging/tooling required for production, and creation of work instructions. Develop time studies for the current manufacturing processes to assist on the completion of the Labor Standard Rate Project (aPriori Labor Costing Software) and perform time studies to validate pre-determined cycle time logic information as well as confirmation of manufacturing rates associated with all manufacturing processes and NPI (New Product Introduction) projects. Assist manufacturing and engineering in understanding methods and rates, as well as in identifying potential causes that lead to low productivity, low utilization of labor or equipment, and/or missed shipments (MUDA analysis, Operator Pace Rating, Kaizen ideas development and implementation) Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using appropriate systems and tools to optimize use of space, equipment, material, and personnel. Maintain, troubleshoot, update and/or design manufacturing equipment and Standard Work Instructions to optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance

Your Experience and Qualifications

Enrollment in a degree program in manufacturing engineering, agricultural engineering or a related field Must be registered as a full-time student Must be able to commute to work location daily Strong computer literacy: MS Office Suite; web-based applications
