WHAT YOU’LL DO
This position presents an excellent opportunity for students seeking to develop technical and business skills in one of the world’s leading consulting firms. This person will work within Bain’s IT department, performing critical functions for our end users. Responsibilities for this role include supporting the Bain IT department’s Boston Help Desk team by collaborating with team members, other members of Bain IT, and our end-users.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
You will build and refresh Bain standard software image using Microsoft System Center Configuration ManagerYou will transfer end-user data from non-functional systems to freshly imaged systemsYou will supply support for Help Desk tickets using the ServiceNow ticketing systemYou will track inventoryYou will call in and track repairs for laptopsYou will perform basic troubleshooting for network applications, systems, and components needing repairYou will set up relocating systems, monitors, and other hardwareYou will install software on machines
ABOUT YOU
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related focusPrior technical support experience preferredExcellent communication and organization skillsAbility to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlinesIs naturally a logical thinker who likes to solve problemsProven strong analytical and technological skillsAbility to self-motivateAbility to grasp new requirements, technologies, tools, and conceptsTakes pride in work and cares about delivering a quality result every timeAbility to work independently and within a small teamCompetent with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (on rare occasions)
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Full-time availability (e.g., Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week) throughout the internship durationLocated in or able to be located in Chicago for the duration of the internshipCandidates should not be enrolled in ongoing courses or have competing academic responsibilities during this internshipStrong time management skills and ability to commit fully to the role
