Job Description

This internship offers a 12-week opportunity to work closely with the Business Intelligence & Operations (BI&O) leadership team, supporting strategic initiatives that enhance operational excellence and innovation. The role is open to individuals who are passionate about the field and eager to contribute to impactful projects. You will have the chance to help align strategy, optimize resources, and support performance measurement efforts within BI&O.

Position Description

The Strategy & Innovation Intern will partner with BI&O leadership to drive forward critical projects, deliver actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Projects will emphasize cross-functional collaboration, operational efficiency, and aligning business priorities to Biogen North America's goals.

This role is ideal for a motivated, curious, and resourceful individual passionate about transforming strategy into results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Execution and Charter Development:Take the lead in executing high-impact strategic projects that address critical business needs and unlock growth opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define priorities, develop charters, and ensure timely delivery of results.Partner with leadership to design an actionable departmental scorecard, setting measurable KPIs that align with organizational goals and provide a clear pathway to success.Insights & Innovation:Dive deep into competitive trends and industry best practices, leveraging your findings to uncover innovative opportunities that elevate BI&O functions.Present your research and insights directly to senior leadership, empowering them to make informed, strategic decisions that shape the future of the organization.Process Improvement Initiatives:Analyze and map out existing processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, or bottlenecks within BI&O operations. Propose bold, creative solutions to streamline workflows and maximize productivity.Work hands-on to implement process enhancements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across the matrixed organization.Cross-Functional Program Support:Contribute to BI&O-wide strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with Biogen North America's priorities.Create and manage intuitive project dashboards and detailed timelines, keeping leadership informed and equipped to track progress and milestones effectively.Budget Management and Resource Optimization AnalysisLead the creation of dynamic and visually engaging scorecards to monitor and analyze financial performance, empowering data-driven decision-making for impactful business outcomes.Brainstorm and deliver forward-thinking solutions to enhance financial efficiency and align investments with strategic priorities.Communication and Reporting:Support the creation of presentations and memos for executive stakeholders, including the BNA Leadership Team, CEO, and Board of Directors.Summarize complex analyses into actionable insights for leadership.

QualificationsExperience:Demonstrated experience through internships, academic projects, or leadership roles in strategy, consulting, or operations. Interest in or exposure to the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries is highly valued. Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.Exceptional written and oral communication, particularly in presenting complex topics to senior stakeholders.Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start dateBe currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college or university

Education

Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH, or a related field) with a strong academic track record.
