Technical Support Intern - Chelsea, MA\n

The MWRA MIS Department is seeking a Desktop Technical Support Intern to work on the Authorities Desktop, Laptop, and Mobile devices. As part of a team, the Intern will provide software, and hardware upgrades and support on end user equipment. This will include applying Security, OS patches, application updates and inventory record controls on equipment being serviced. Works under the supervision of the Program Manager, MIS Operations.\n

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nParticipates in the Laptop Validation Project.\nConfigures, tests and installs microcomputer hardware, software, and peripheral products for the MWRA.\nInvestigates, diagnoses, tests and resolves a wide variety of microcomputer hardware, peripheral device and software problems reported by users through the Helpline or other sources.\nParticipates on microcomputer hardware, software, or peripheral device project teams to assist MWRA users with introduction to new or modified microcomputer environments.\nUtilizes the MWRA tracking system, Maximo, for workorders and inventory updates\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nCollege Information Technology or Computer Science major \nProficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Products\nUnderstanding of security and OS patching \nAbility to work independently\nGood communication skills required\n\n
