About this RoleThe internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a manufacturing environment, and to support/promote the graduate’s career goals through interaction with supply chain and logistics engineering professionals. Interns participate in professional activities for the Mack Trucks Roanoke Valley Operations (RVO) Plant by working on practical, innovative, and important projects. This Internship provides structured learning experiences where interns and our supply chain and logistics professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. The internship allows student to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and the Mack Trucks RVO Plant.
What you will do Lead the visual management preparation and implementation as the frame line and axle sub line transition into the building expansion including warehouse labels, blue books, new lineside photo label rollout and 5S floor markings Support system changes during frame line transition to the building expansion Lead a new supermarket implementation following all fully documented standards under mentorship Gain a real life manufacturing perspective of how both supply chain and logistics operate and interact with other departments Update or create digital renderings of current and future visual management and warehouse layouts. The student needs to have intermediate Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and creating graphs. The student will need to create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for communicating work done throughout the summer and reporting on new project ideas. Minimum Education and ExperienceApplicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Business Administration (preference for Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations specializations) or Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship
Student should have minimum GPA of 2.75
