Our Flight Operations Communications team is responsible for the daily support of operational and department communications, bringing our uniquely United story to life with our pilots across the world. From internal newsletters to operational communications, we’re sharing our story with the world in a way that’s clear, consistent and inspiring. Key Responsibilities: Draft engaging articles for multiple newslettersReview operational communications prior to publishing to ensure consistent language and grammatical accuracyManage editorial calendarsEngage with Chief Pilot Offices and Flight Training Center for potential pilot story/feature opportunitiesSupport multiple departments across Flight Operations with communication requestsAssist at the archives sorting, inventorying, assessing condition of artifactsDevelop mechanism to receive feedback on our internal comms channels from front line employees including digital survey, focus groupsTake daily analysis of content performance and provide statsPick up some fun, easy stories to write aboutAssist at video shoots

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Applicant must be a current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelors degree in Communications, Aviation Management or a related fieldHighly organized and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple, competing priorities and ensure attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsMust be comfortable talking to and collaborating with a variety of partnersConfident performing data analysis to arrive at insights and develop recommendationsProven proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Position will be hybrid, with time spent at home as well as at Willis tower in ChicagoIntern duration is 12 weeks during Summer 2025Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the futureSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationsReliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
