OverviewThe main objective for the Meteorology Support Intern is to assist in the design and deployment of enterprise-wide weather decision support systems. The Intern will have the opportunity to improve upon or create an original weather forecast product tailored to the unique needs of operational stakeholders, culminating in a presentation to Network Operations divisional leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the design of customized weather forecast products.Interface with stakeholders at United’s Network Operations Center and hub airports to align weather risks to operational constraints.Collaborate with Digital Technology development teams to integrate weather data and forecast products into operational decision-support tools and projects.Create visualizations of current and past forecast data for qualitative and quantitative verification.United values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply.
