Your work environment at EXP

EXP’s Transportation and Infrastructure Practice provides comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering services for all types of roadway, bridge, water resource, rail, transit and aviation projects. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we have a history of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects.  We are currently looking to grow and enhance our construction engineering and inspection (CE+I) practice and are seeking an energetic Intern to work within our Chicago Office.

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Assist in the inspection of transportation projects such as roadways, bridges, and other infrastructure to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Monitor construction activities to verify that work is being performed according to plans and specifications. Document daily construction activities and prepare detailed reports on project progress, including any issues or deviations from the plans. Coordinate with project managers to address any issues or discrepancies observed during inspections. Assist in the review of project plans and specifications to gain a better understanding of the project requirements. Perform data entry and maintain project records using relevant software and tools. Support senior inspectors and engineers with various tasks as needed to ensure the successful completion of the project. Adhere to schedules and ensure the production of high-quality work.

 

What your experience looks like

Studying Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field is required Experience with computer aided drafting and Microsoft Office products Punctuality and maturity – ability to work with minimal direction Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work in a team environment
