**_Internships are only open to Choctaw Nation tribal members currently enrolled in college._** **Job Purpose or Objective(s):** The Wellness Center Intern will be dedicated to learning both the administrative and the fitness aspects of Wellness Center operations. **This is a temporary, 8-week internship with a schedule M-F 8am-4:30pm | $15.00 per hour** **Primary Tasks:** 1. Contributes to Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority’s objectives by completing specific work assignments dependent on the intern’s best career and coursework fit and organizational needs. 2. Participates in various fitness or related responsibilities with supervision, which could include administrative tasks, answering basic questions regarding fitness equipment use, maintaining cleanliness of the Wellness Center, etc. 3. Participates in a trained and mentored role to gain hands-on operational knowledge of assigned responsibilities; performs basic responsibilities, assignments and/or tasks, shadows experienced staff, attends internship trainings, etc. 4. Completes Internship project as assigned. 5. Other duties as assigned within scope and competency of the associate. **Required Education, Skills and Experience:** MINIMUM + Active student with major in Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education & Recreation (HPER), Nutrition, Biology, or related undergraduate degree program with career aspirations in the Fitness field. + Choctaw CDIB or Choctaw member status. + Must be currently attending an accredited college, university, or postsecondary educational institution. + Must be available to work 40 hour per week eight consecutive weeks. + Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5; 3.0 GPA or greater preferred. + Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written on a technical level. + Ability to lift 20lb or more + Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently or in a group and manage priorities. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment. **About the Choctaw Nation** The Choctaw Nation is the third-largest Indian nation in the United States, with over 200,000 tribal members and more than 11,000 employees.
