Intern-Asset Management
Job Purpose & Scope Responsible for assisting Bank’s asset management team in the management and oversight of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans comprising a broad range of property types, sponsors, deal structures and markets. Essential Job Functions + Reviews newly approved lending facilities, including analysis of property operations, including historical and projected revenues and operating, leasing and capital expenditures with respect to the ongoing economic viability of the property and loan. + Evaluates monthly loan draws to ensure compliance with budget, assessing ongoing construction risk and ordering and reviewing title updates. + Reviews and interprets loan pay-offs and releases of collateral. + Reviews lease agreements (and related estoppels and SNDAs), sales contracts and other legal documents related to the loan portfolio. + Reviews and interprets borrower/guarantor financial condition and compliance with loan and guaranty covenants, including reviewing and analyzing tax returns and financial statements. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Knowledge of all of real estate asset classes. + Knowledge of all tiers/risk profiles of the capital stack. + Knowledge of financial concepts utilized to analyze complex financial data, market information and economic conditions. + Knowledge of real estate debt markets and the principal ownership position to more thoroughly understand complicated issues and opportunities of the real estate capital markets and ownership positions. + Ability to demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills. + Ability to communicate effectively the strengths, weaknesses and issues related to a transaction, in both written and oral presentations. + Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and with exacting deadlines, with low-to-moderate supervision. + Skill in Excel-based financial modeling. Basic Qualifications + Enrollment in a Bachelor degree program concentrating in finance, accounting, economics or business required. + Completion of a minimum of three (3) years of undergraduate studies required. + Coursework in commercial real estate preferred.
