About the role at Caterpillar
In this role, you will be immersed in the Caterpillar autonomous operations group that support three Canadian mine sites running our Command for Hauling solution. The position will assist the Caterpillar application specialists, who are on site supporting our autonomous customers 24/7. Areas of work include continuous improvement, product support, data analysis, safety observations and voice of customer.
In this position, you, along with your manager and the application specialist, will direct your development and continual learning throughout the work-term. The ideal candidate has experience in mining and an interest in applying new technologies to make mining operations safer and more efficient. The role requires the ability to quickly learn our MineStar suite of technologies.
This position has the option to be 4, 8 or 12 months depending on candidates availability. Start date can be in January or May 2024. The position will be based in Calgary, AB and could involve travel to mine sites.
Basic Requirements:
Pursuing bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Mining job-related experience.
Solid understanding of mining and earthmoving fundamentals.
Willing to learn.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Interest and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Experience of working in surface mines.
Project management experience.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and with tight deadlines.
Additional Information:
Work location is Calgary AB.
Relocation assistance is not available.
