Intern - Business Analytics, Asset Management
What You'll Do We’re looking for a Business Analytics Intern to join our business management team at Principal Asset Management. In this role, you’ll work with our team on gathering data, transforming it into an analytical framework, and derive insights. The ideal candidate will work full-time during Summer 2025 and part-time during the subsequent school year. What You’ll Do Gather and extract data from public databases and/or data sources Transform data into an analytical framework like Excel or PowerBI Derive insights based on data Create and deliver presentations showcasing data findings Who You Are Working towards a degree in business analytics, business, data analytics, or similar Will have completed junior year by summer of 2025 Experience with business analytics in a professional setting Advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge Strong understanding and experience using data visualization tools including PowerBI and/or Tableau Prior internship experience Skills That Will Help You Stand Out Previous experience working with a consulting firm or in financial planning and analytics Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $29 - $31 / hour Time Off Program Paid company holidays and any time off required in your state. This amount is intended to support incidental expenses you may incur as part of your internship. The Company will provide a tax gross-up on this stipend as a financial benefit, but is not intended to compensate for all tax liabilities. Location(s) This role will be located in Des Moines, Iowa or New York City, New York. Work Environments This role offers the ability for in-office, or four days in-office and one day remote. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
