Intern - Capacity Portfolio Representative (Flatbed) – Summer 2025

This internship starts in the late Spring/Summer of 2025 and is designed for junior/senior year undergrad students.

Capacity Portfolio Representative Intern

Are you ready to launch your career in business development and account management? Join us as a Capacity Portfolio Representative intern at C.H. Robinson, where you'll play a crucial role in helping some of the world’s most prominent companies achieve their business goals. As part of our team, you’ll engage directly with carriers, learning how to build strong relationships and provide innovative solutions to optimize their supply chains.  In this role, you'll work with a specific region to build relationships with flatbed carriers. Your role involves growing a network of carriers, matching them with available freight, and ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. You will also resolve any issues during transit and learn about the different types of flatbed equipment to help determine which trucks are suitable for various shipments.

This paid internship will start with an interactive onboarding program where you'll gain insight into C.H. Robinson’s industry-leading technology, business development strategies, and customer-centric culture. You'll be integrated into our sales team, giving you hands-on experience in driving business growth, and delivering exceptional service to our diverse client base. 

Throughout the program, you will gain real-world experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and have the opportunity to build a strong network within the logistics and transportation industry. By the end of the summer, you’ll have sharpened your negotiation, relationship management, analytical and problem-solving skills while contributing to impactful initiatives that drive success for both our clients and C.H. Robinson.

Responsibilities:

Work along-side industry professionals to learn internal business processes and supply chain best practicesBuild strong relationships internally across teams and externally with customers, carriers, and suppliersLearn and effectively use best-in-class technology systems, including our proprietary global supply chain platform, Navisphere®Learn and apply skills across multiple areas of the transportation and logistics industry, including but not limited to: sales and negotiation, operations management, and transportation information systems

Required Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills, verbal and writtenAbility to thrive in a deadline-driven, team environment, while also delivering independent resultsRelationship building skillsDriven, enthusiastic, and highly motivatedHigh attention to detail and ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:

Values a diverse and inclusive work environmentUndergraduate education at a Junior or Senior level (pursuing a business, sales, marketing, supply chain, communications, or related major is a plus)
