We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in the rapidly evolving field of GIS. As a GIS Intern, you will work alongside experienced GIS professionals and contribute to various projects involving data collection, analysis, and mapping. You will gain valuable experience working with GIS software, managing spatial data, and supporting key initiatives that leverage geospatial information. Key Responsibilities: + Assist in the collection, processing, and management of geospatial data using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS). + Support the creation and maintenance of maps, spatial data layers, and other GIS-related deliverables. + Help perform spatial analysis and generate reports to support decision-making. + Conduct data quality control and ensure data accuracy and consistency. + Participate in field data collection activities (if applicable). + Assist with data visualization and presenting geospatial data in accessible formats. + Support GIS-related tasks for ongoing projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams. + Provide technical support to team members and troubleshoot GIS-related issues. + Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in GIS. Qualifications: + Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field. + Strong academic performance. + Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship nor or in the future. + Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar) and geospatial data formats. + Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Excellent communication and organizational skills. + Basic knowledge of spatial analysis, cartography, and data management practices is a plus. + Previous experience in GIS (internships, coursework, or projects) is a plus but not required. + This role may require some travel; therefore, a valid driver's license is required. + Military experience a plus. + Concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program. + Availability to work 40 hours per week.
