Intern - Corporate Accounting
Support Center - Irving

Our 10-week paid Internship program is designed to attract and develop future leaders. The Corporate Accounting - Summer Intern will work with the Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting teams, gaining hands-on experience with core responsibilities, relevant projects, and assignments such as lease accounting, consolidations, payroll and benefits, capital transactions, preparing and reconciling accounting entries and researching technical issues.

Major Activities

Gain an understanding of corporate accounting by assisting with preparing journal entries, supporting work papers and reconciliations related to lease accounting, consolidations, payroll and benefits and capital transactions Assist with income or sales tax audits including responding to notices and gathering data/preparing support schedules, researching tax issues, drafting correspondence with taxing authorities, and working with outside advisors Assist with researching accounting technical issues and investigate accounting entries.Gain experience with accounting technology solutions like Oracle, CoStar and AI tools. Assist with special projects as they arise Support the financial reporting team by providing supporting schedules and explaining business activity.Other duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in AccountingMust have completed junior year and going into 4th year of schoolOverall GPA of 3.0 or higherAccounting GPA of 3.0 or higher

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent Google Suite applications

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

Motivated to learnComfortable in a deadline driven environment.Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skillsEffective interpersonal and communication skills and enthused by working as part of a team

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Preferred Education

Student in Masters Accounting program with a focus on obtaining his/her CPA license. Student who wants to work in a large company accounting function.

Preferred Special Certifications or Technical Skills

Student with an interest and aptitude in technology

Preferred Type of Experience the Job Requires

One year of experience working in a retail environment
