Intern Corporate Research and Development

Powell is dedicated to the future growth and talent of our company.  We offer internship opportunities to college students through a 10-week internship program. Our interns receive hands on experience, training and the opportunity to work on a project in their specific area of study. 

The Research and Development Engineering internship will be focused on optimizing dielectrics of a conductor in a sealed container. Ideal applicants will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Power or Electrical Engineering (emphasis on Electronics). Posted position does not allow for sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Project Details:

Intern would investigate the insulating effect (or lack thereof) of accumulated dust on horizontal busbars (electrical/mechanical) Intern would be responsible for concept Intern would be responsible for theoretical analysis/simulation  Intern would be responsible for proof of concept/prototype Intern would be responsible for testing report

Job Requirements:

A successful intern at Powell will have the following characteristics:

Currently pursuing a 4 year degree from an accredited institution Rising Junior or Senior level students continuing their studies in the fall semester Good academic standing; minimum 3.0 GPA Team-player, self-starter, effective communicator, & dependable Possess multi-tasking abilities and strong inter-personal skills. FEA experience a bonus
