Intern - Human Resources

SUMMARY:

In this role, you will be paired with mentors in our various areas within the Corporate Human Resources (HR) department. Assists in the overall recruiting process from start to finish, along with learning our systems and other processes. Learns the duties of payroll and benefits area and successfully demonstrates high-quality and timely assistance by helping the HR department meet daily objectives.

Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.

Observes the recruiting process from start to finish.

Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.

Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.

Provides clerical support to the HR department.

Observes how payroll processing within the company flows from start to finish.

May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and updating payroll changes.

Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.

Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Prepares and delivers a presentation at program close, meeting the specifications of the manager.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Possess clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication skill to effectively express concepts to Bank employees, customers and prospects.

Professional appearance, demeanor, interpersonal relationships, work ethic and attitude.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding bank client information and bank policy and procedure.

Basic analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills.

Detail oriented with good organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and meet communicated deadlines.

Team player with a positive outlook.

You will be required to complete the HIPAA course through the Bank's online learning module.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.

Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn various Banking Software programs.

Willingness to learn new technologies.
