Intern - Manufacturing Engineer

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Business, or Chemistry with an expected graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular participation   Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.

Compensation for this internship opportunity ranges between $23-$25 per hour.  (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).

This position will be located in Waco, Texas.  We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as an Manufacturing Engineer Intern. You will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day functions of our business. The intern contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of operations by identifying areas for improvement, implementing solutions, and actively participating in various projects. The role provides valuable learning opportunities and exposure to different aspects of the business. Your education is just the beginning - you'll become an active member of our Operations team, reporting to our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager. During our 12-week internship program, you'll tackle real-world challenges through impactful assignments, and work alongside our industry changemakers.  

Intern Impact Project:  Identifying Plating Process Improvements

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be paired with an area supervisor/external chemical support group to identify specific improvements for the Plating factory. This project will include reviewing the following: chemical dosing, addman chromate conversion charts, Geomet conversion from water based to solvent based solutions and BL Chromate formulation and traits and the plating process.  This assignment will require hands-on management of the project to identify, plan, track, and complete projects.  The process will be documented and presented to commercial leadership at the end of the 12-week program.
