Major Activities
Understand the lifecycle of the item/category of merchandise.Gain an understanding of the business impact of the item/category as it relates to Key Performance Indicators.Identify and understand who our competition is.Gain an understanding of Sales Forecasting.Gain an understanding of the in-season process of flow of receipts and exit strategy planning.Gain an understanding of financial and reporting tools.Learn firsthand the importance of relationship building by collaborating with internal and external leaders.Will analyze and determine opportunities for the item/category.Collaborate with cross-functional partners within Merchandising.Will manage projects or tasks, demonstrating initiative and the ability to produce good work results through and with the Team.Other duties as assigned
Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or merchandisingMinimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent Google Suite applicationsMinimum Type of Experience the Job Requires
GPA of 3.0 or aboveCollege Juniors and aboveOne year of experience working in a retail environment is preferred. Retail operations experience in the specific functional area is a plusGood written and verbal communication and listening skillsGood analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsProficiency in ExcelWillingness to learn and self-motivatedPreferred Skills
Demonstrate a desire to learn the merchandising process and product lifecycleDemonstrate ability to analyze reports and draw conclusions and recommendationsDemonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate strong organizational skills and be detail-orientedAbility to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments at the same timeApplicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
