JOB PURPOSE:
Learn and improve network security skills and gain knowledge about day-to-day security operations in a business environment. Assist the Network Security department in protecting company information assets by completing projects that will improve the overall security of the organization. An intern in the security area will gain a working understanding of the business case for network security and become familiar with network security operations.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Minimum Certification of Associate’s degree in Computers, Technology or related field, or in third or fourth year pursuing a degree in Information Security, Systems, Technology or related field. Knowledge and familiarity with network, computer, and application security best practices. Preferred technical knowledge or experience with: UNIX/Linux, MS Windows, Active Directory, Digital Certificates, SSL, VPN, IPSec, TCP/IP, DNS, web security architectures, Nessus. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word required and experience with Excel and PowerPoint preferred.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.ABOUT MIDCO:
