Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assists in the design, development, and maintenance of thin film deposition processes on assigned projects; creates and reviews design documentation, test procedures, Bills of Materials, and manufacturing work instructions with assistance from Coating Engineering and Operations personnel. Operates precision test equipment to measure optical properties of thin film coatings. Observes and reports technical issues as they arise during coating operations with assistance from Coating Engineering, Quality and Operations personnel. Troubleshoots product quality and production yield problems and participate in corrective action teams. Supports manufacturing operations to ensure products are delivered on time. Assists Operations personnel in developing, documenting and implementing new equipment and new process maintenance procedures.
Education & Experience
Candidate should be pursuing a BS in Engineering or related discipline, preferably in Physics, Optics, Materials Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering 0-3 years working experience; familiarity with optics and/or thin film coating technologies and metrology preferred. Local candidates preferred
Skills
Strong verbal and written technical communication skills. Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet software (MSOffice Suite) Strong analytical, fault isolation, and problem solving skills. DOE and SOE experience strongly desired. Strong organizational skills and attention to details required. Experience with problem analysis and resolution Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others Ability to recommend and implement improvements
Working Conditions
Candidate will be in a lab environment with moving parts/machinery, interact with solvents/chemicals and will spend some percentage of the day on their feet
