General Atomics – Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) has an exciting internship opportunity for Undergraduate or Graduate students in the field of Opto-Mechanical Engineering.  General Atomics is a leader in optical and mechanical engineering intensive systems.  Selected candidates would be given the opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of electromagnetic systems, high energy lasers, advanced sensors, space, and nuclear systems solving real world problems with high tech tools. 

Selected candidates would perform under limited supervision, working on non-routine projects with general instruction and advanced projects with detailed instructions:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 
 Participates in the day-to-day activities in opto-mechanical engineering department supporting the design and development of high energy laser systems, sensors, space and nuclear systems.   Duties will typically include one or more of the following: creating mechanical designs, drawings, or analysis of mechanical components in airborne, terrestrial or space systems.Will be required to summarize work in technical reports and provide presentations to team leaders and management.Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Performs other duties as assigned or required. We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
