Intern - Software Ultrasound R&D - Cambridge, MA- Summer 2025

Your role:

Working under the direction of a senior engineer, you will design, implement and/or test ultrasound software. These tasks will encompass a broad range of software development activities, providing you the opportunity to learn about successful deployment of the software components in an exciting customer-oriented engineering environment. Development will be completed in C++ & Java.At Philips Ultrasound Research & Development, software engineers and developers work on some of the most complex challenges in healthcare by utilizing skills in data structures, systems knowledge, algorithms, and object oriented programming

Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or equivalentKnowledge of and/or experience programming in an object-oriented language such as C++ and JavaAbility to analyze and solve complex problemsStrong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and challengesKnowledge of software development lifecycleAbility to derive creative and innovative solutions by thinking "outside the box"Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutionsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface in a cross-disciplinary manner, including engineers, project managers, and clinical specialistsSelf-starter with good organizational and time management skills



How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details  

The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00-46.00, plus overtime eligible.  The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.   

Additional Information

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to the job posting location.
