Job Summary

 

Lightpath is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting and finance. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, proactive, and has a strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting or finance.

Responsibilities

 

Assist with testing for Oracle financial Migration. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling statements, and managing vendor/customer inquiries. Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with financial statement analysis. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Assist with audit preparations and provide support during external audits. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the finance department. Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the accounting team. Qualifications

 

Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Prior internship or work experience in accounting or finance is a plus, but not required.

Pay ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.
