The Austin Police Department Human Resources Division seeks to engage, attract, develop, support and retain the best workforce in the country to serve Austin residents.
The intern will play a critical role in our Organizational Development & Training team at the Austin Police Department. As a member of the OD team the intern will work alongside staff to develop, implement, and support department employee engagement events, rollouts of training courses developed by the organizational development (OD) team.
The Austin Police Department Human Resources OD team will provide the intern with an opportunity to experience corporate learning from the inside out. They will have the opportunity to improve presentation and learning skills while being a champion of creating an inclusive world-class learning culture.
The internship will last between: February 2025 – May 2025 (can be extended)
Mon-Thurs 4 hours each dayMostly remote with one day in the office

Key Responsibilities: Work with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, or SharePoint on a daily basis. Support with weekly training webinars, employee engagement and recognition initiatives. Create event materials and promotional training materials by using graphic design tools like Canva. Utilize Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to complete departmental tasks and assigned projects.
