As a Venture Capital (VC) Investment Analyst Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the investment team in evaluating potential investment opportunities and assisting with various tasks in the VC process. **Responsibilities** **Essential Functions & Responsibilities may include:** 1. Conducting market research and industry analysis to identify trends and potential investment sectors. 2. Assisting the investment team on sourcing opportunities that match the fund’s investment thesis. 3. Assisting in due diligence processes, including financial modeling, competitive analysis, valuation analysis, etc. 4. Supporting the team in preparing investment memos and presentations. 5. Monitoring portfolio companies’ performance and conducting regular updates. 6. Collaborating with team members to evaluate startups and assess their growth potential. 7. Participating in meetings with entrepreneurs and potential partners. 8. Contributing to the overall investment strategy through insightful research and analysis. 9. Supporting other operational activities associated with the firm. **Requirements** : + Ability to attend weekly Monday investment due diligence team meetings (remote: 4pm-5pm) + Ability to attend weekly Wednesday Investment Speaker Series (Remote – 4pm-5pm) + Ability to attend weekly Friday team lead investment analyst meeting (Remote – 3pm-3:30pm) + Ability to spend 15-19hours/week on the job + Ability to travel to Salt Lake City or Lehi for periodic in-person meetings, pitch events, etc. + Personal computer or access to a computer. **Minimum Qualifications** Qualifications + High School Diploma, or equivalency + Currently enrolled in a Utah institution of higher education. + Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and present it clearly and concisely. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with research databases and tools. **Preferences** Preferred Candidates will have either: 1. Investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or other investing experience (internship experience counts – especially internships where interns have conducted due diligence for investment memos). OR; 2. Have a deep technical understanding (junior, senior, master’s, PhD) in a relevant discipline – advanced manufacturing, aerospace & defense, energy & natural resources, life sciences/biotech, outdoor products & rec, emerging technology (blockchain, ML, AI, AR/VR, etc.) **Special Instructions Summary** **Additional Information** The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems (“URS”).
