The Internal Audit Data Analyst will be responsible for the planning and overseeing of compliance and operational audits, investigations, and special projects. This position will participate in the risk assessment process to identify the key areas requiring review and review and perform the planning, fieldwork and reporting phases of an audit engagement. The Internal Audit Data Analyst will evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and operational effectiveness, accuracy in compliance with all applicable directives and regulations. This role requires in depth knowledge of audit practices and must be detailed orientated, analytical, and reliable, with strong organizational skills, as well as expertise in risk management and compliance.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Reporting:Gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Tableau, Excel, and other BI tools.Create SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from various databases for reporting purposes.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used in reporting.Business Intelligence:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into actionable reports.Provide recommendations based on data analysis to support business decision-making.Continuously improve existing reports and dashboards to enhance usability and value.Data Management: Monitor data quality and consistency across various data sources.Work closely with IT and data teams to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.Maintain documentation of reporting processes and methodologies.Performance Monitoring:Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance.Analyze historical data to forecast future trends and identify potential risks or opportunities.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, marketing, sales, and operations, to gather requirements and deliver insights.Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Qualifications Education/ ExperienceBachelor of Arts required.2-3 years of experience in a reporting or data analysis role.Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.Strong experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookups, and complex formulas.Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools and practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in a specific industry (e.g., finance, university, technology).Knowledge of additional data tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, R).Experience with cloud-based data environments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).Travel
