Grow your reputation looking after ours
Do you have a curious nature and like to understand things? Do you see things differently to others, and can speak up confidently when you see something not quite right? Our Internal Audit Graduate programme allows you to put these skills and many more into helping us to facilitate meaningful change. To us, you’re not just a graduate, you’re a leader in the making. That’s why our programme is tailored to equip and empower you from day one. Through comprehensive training and on-the-job learning, you’ll quickly develop the confidence, skills and experience to hit the ground running and maximise your potential.
What it's all about
As a third line of defence, Internal Audit is all about protecting the best interests of our customers and our people. Being part of our team gives you a great insight into how Santander operates across all its business areas. Our role is to provide the Board and Senior Management with an unbiased opinion on the quality and effectiveness of our internal controls, risk management and governance processes and systems. We provide independent assurance across our whole business, and you’ll get the opportunity to work with all our audit teams.
We want our people to have fun, enjoy their work and feel they belong here, working together. We want to set you up for the future with us, so we’ll get you straight into the action and provide you support from the whole team. We’re committed to your development and professional growth, and we’ll provide the tools, support and experience to help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed.
What you’ll be doing
During the programme, you’ll benefit from rotations through all our teams, which’ll give you a good understanding of how we work and the different parts of our business. Specifically, you can look forward to:
Working with innovative technologies on live projects from the get-go
Gaining exposure to senior executives on a regular basis
Working with a friendly, collaborative and diverse bunch of experts
Delivering meaningful improvements across every part of our business
Challenging our existing processes and providing insights into how we can improve them
Gaining the relevant qualifications, skills and leadership abilities needed for a successful career with us
Where you’ll be working
Our programme is based in Milton Keynes, and we also have teams based in London. As we’re responsible for auditing the business nationwide, you’ll also get the opportunity to travel.
We want our people to thrive at work and home and be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
What we’re looking for in you
A bachelor’s degree in any subject, 112 UCAS (top 3 A Level grades or equivalent excluding General Studies and Extended Project).
Excellent numerical and writing skills, and the ability to communicate clearly to a range of audiences
An awareness of the latest advances in technology
An actively collaborative approach to work
Ability to question the status quo and look at things objectively
The confidence to share ideas and embrace change
