The Internal Audit Intern will report to the Lead Internal Auditor and will assist the audit team in Operational, Financial, Compliance, and Technology audits covering Bridgestone Americas business units and functional areas. This individual will utilize audit procedures to perform effective, independent, and objective audits identifying risks, vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
ResponsibilitiesThe position will have responsibility for the following under the direction and mentorship of a Lead Internal Auditor:
• Perform Japanese Sarbanes-Oxley, similar to Sarbanes-Oxley, internal controls test work during the mid-year testing cycle.
• Assist the audit team in the execution of on-site audits of departments, divisions, subsidiaries, domestic and foreign manufacturing plants, foreign sales branches, affiliates, licensees and other company owned or associated facilities. Execution of audits include but are not limited to:
•Verification that accounting records are accurate and factual and that the company's best practices are safeguarded.
•Reviewing IT security and governance, drive control/process optimization to assess existence, effectiveness, and efficiency of the IT control environment.
•Assist in Regional Field Audits that encompass monitoring, evaluating, and testing retail operations.
• Assist the audit team with the development of recommendations for cost reduction, profit generation and operational efficiency improvements.
