Job Title: Internal Audit Manager (SOX)

Job Summary/Purpose

This role will oversee and manage the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program within Internal Audit Services. The SOX Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation, maturity and continuous improvement of a centralized SOX testing function.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Lead the planning, change management, implementation, and execution of a newly formed centralized SOX testing function within Internal Audit Services. Oversee execution of the annual SOX testing program, including ensuring the performance of controls testing, evaluating test results, and identifying control gaps. Collaborate with the business to ensure timely remediation of all identified deficiencies. Maintain and continuously improve an effective SOX control program that is recognized by the Audit Committee, Chief Accounting Officer, external certifiers, and external auditors as effective and sufficient to provide assurance to management regarding the effectiveness of the control environment. Prepare SOX compliance reports for senior management and the Audit Committee that summarize findings, remediation plans, and results from control testing. Coordinate and work with external auditors to facilitate their annual SOX audit, respond to their queries, and ensure compliance requirements are met. Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance the SOX compliance program, leveraging technology and automation where possible. Stay current on changes to SOX regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the company maintains a proactive stance on compliance. Collaborate with other departments to manage and continuously improve use of Entergy's governance, risk, and compliance platform. Manage the quarterly SOX certification program. Develop, coach and mentor audit team members, Ensuring standardization and high quality of documentation among team members.

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education and experience required of the position

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field and 8+ years of experience in auditing or accounting is required. Managerial experience is strongly preferred.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Required: deep knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and significant experience with SOX is required.

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

Required: requires designation as CPA, CIA, or CISA. CPA preferred.
