Internal Auditor

The Internal Auditor plays a key role in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of Maritz internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. This role involves conducting financial, operational, technology and compliance audits to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Assists with coordinating and administering client audits. Works collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to identify process improvements and support strategic business objectives.

Hybrid work schedule, with a few in office days in Fenton, MO.

80% - Plan and execute financial, operational, compliance or system related internal audits in accordance with department standards, including risk assessment, test of control design and operating effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and providing actionable recommendations, and delivering high quality audit reports.  Partner with business stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous improvement and risk awareness.

10% - Coordinate and assist with the external auditor and client audit requests, as assigned.  Assist in the performance of internal investigations and special projects as assigned.

10% - Supports the necessary administrative tasks of the department, such as assisting with preparing Audit Committee material and presentations to senior leadership; tracking, follow-up and reporting of open audit issues; and updating department policies and procedures and audit programs. Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes, and contribute to the development of the internal audit function.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience

4+ years auditing experience (some internal audit experience preferred)

CPA, CIA, or CISA certification strongly preferred

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team

Minimal travel on occasion - 5%
