In this interesting, interim role within the Communications, Marketing & Responsible Banking function, you’ll be supporting the Senior Business Partner in delivering high quality internal communications across Santander UK.
You’ll use your skills and experience to draft and create communications content for Retail and Business Banking (RBB) and play a proactive role in promoting employee engagement. You’ll partner with the Head of Customer Interactions and their team, leading on communications for and from their functions aligned to our business strategy.

Acting as a trusted communications adviser by providing valuable guidance to senior management on all internal communications activity
Leading and shaping the internal communications agenda, with the right culture and behaviours front and centre
Supporting with the design, development and implementation of integrated communications for RBB
Understanding strategic internal channels and voicing evolution and coaching leaders as needed
Producing top quality internal articles, briefings, blogs, employee Q&As and more
Supporting internal communications events for senior management
What you’ll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
Proven track record as an effective internal communications professional for a high profile brand or organisation
Excellent writing skills and a range of internal communications and journalistic skills, including writing articles, leadership communications and blogs
Demonstrable knowledge of the workings of a corporate environment and the role internal communications plays in that, including links into the wider world
Previous experience of managing multiple senior stakeholders within a corporate function with business-wide impact
It would also be nice for you to have:
Ability to engage and influence a range of different audiences, including senior executives
Ability to research and write about a wide range of subjects and issues and identify the core Santander interest quickly
A clear drive and delivery focus and a track record of getting things done to a high standard combined with a desire to drive performance to greater level
What else you need to know:
This 12-month fixed-term contract role is based in Milton Keynes.
We want our people to thrive at work and home and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).
If you apply for this role, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location. We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.

How we’ll reward you.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your contract duration.
We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
£6,000 car allowance per year.
