Internal Communications Coordinator

In this role, the Internal Communications Coordinator will serve as the project manager for companywide internal communications projects, working with their Internal Communications teammates as well as teams across the company. They will be responsible for building project timelines, keeping their team on task and ensuring their teammates have what they need to hit deadlines. They will have the opportunity to build their project management skills, while also recommending new processes and procedures that help the Internal Communications team work more effectively. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to anticipate potential project roadblocks and project management experience. The objective of this role is to ensure all internal communications project run smoothly and efficiently.

Position Type: Full-Time
Starting Wage: $30.75 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $31.75 | Year 3 - $33.25 | Year 4 - $34.75
Work Location: Naperville, IL
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains a thorough understanding of Internal Communications team and assigned topics.

• Collaborates with team on projects and tasks..
• Serves as project manager by building project timelines, keeping team on task, and ensuring team has what they need to hit deadlines.
• Recommends changes, processes, systems and efficiencies to direct leader.
• Maintains team ways-of-working including project timelines, meeting agendas, minutes, and other relevant business support.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of the company to effectively communicate with internal business partners and external vendors.
• Writes and edits internal communications as needed.

• Serves as point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts. • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader. • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility. • Other duties as assigned.   Job-specific Competencies:  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities   • Consistently demonstrates the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as outlined for the role. • Gives attention to detail and follows instruction. • Ability to stay organized and multi-task efficiently. • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.  • Establishes goals and works toward achievement.  • Effective time management; maximizes productivity. • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external parties.  • Knowledge of products and services of the company.  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, consistently prioritizing, meeting deadlines and remaining calm under pressure.  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  • Prepares written materials to meet purpose and audience.  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  • Extensive knowledge of AP style. • Ability to create written, digital, verbal employee facing content.   Education and Experience:   • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business, Liberal Arts or a related field required. • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in Communications, Marketing, ,  or Human Resources  required. • Experience managing internal corporate communications programs for a large organization and experience with employee intranets and a variety of internal employee communication channels (blogs, video, social media, mobile communication) preferred. • Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.    Physical Requirements:   • Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties. • Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another. • Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse. • Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.    Travel:   • Minimal travel required as needed for job related duties such as training, project work and administrative tasks.
