An exciting opportunity has a risen for an Internal Communication Manager within our team.  This role will involve working with a range of key business stakeholders to support the delivery of key programs milestones thus enabling the delivery of our Rolls-Royce North America and Defense strategy for the next 50 years.

Key Accountabilities:

Work with the senior leadership team to define, develop and deliver a compelling narrative for the business to engage and unite employees to behind the Defense strategy and Business Plan.

Lead the communications conversation with senior leaders and project teams around key Group and Functional themes creating and delivering an integrated approach that aligns with the Defense business narrative.  Including, culture, diversity, employee engagement, lean, HPC, behaviors etc.

Lead communication strategies for global, regional and site change programs, providing communications expertise, influencing and advising senior stakeholders, developing complex content, deployment and measurement to ensure the effective rollout and sustainment of change.

Integral part of the Extended Defense Leadership team, providing Communications coaching, expertise and guidance enabling them to be an aligned, engaged and high performing leadership team.

Accountable for defining and implementing a global internal communications channel strategy that effectively reaches and engages with all defense employees, regardless of location, working environment and culture.

Govern the use of channels to minimize unnecessary noise and maximize the impact of our communications.

Accountable for the delivery of Group and Functional campaigns through the Defense Business partnering with Group Internal Communications to determine the most effective, timely and cost-effective method for deployment. Use feedback mechanisms to ensure constant improvements.

Works closely with other group communications colleagues to share best practice, benchmark and continuously improve the Defense internal communications approach and share Defense best practice with other areas of the business.

Lead and manage the globally dispersed Defense Internal communications team consisting of regional Communications Support Officers (1 UK, 1 US) and Visual Communications Lead.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of work experience or

Master’s Degree with 3+ years’ work experience

High level of business and financial acumen and ability to make complex topics easy to understand and engaging for a global, complex organization.

Proven expertise in stakeholder management and the ability to influence, coach and challenge leaders and employees across the organization in order to deliver the best communications and engagement experience for a diverse audience.

Strong project management skills planned and executing programs aligned to business objectives to cost and schedule.

Candidates must have demonstrated their ability to develop and manage credible and effective working relationships with relevant external stakeholders, i.e. media, press agencies, advisors, government and other public agencies

Travel both in the US and overseas may also be required on an occasional basis.
