Internal Controls Coordinator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Work with experienced audit managers to evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls that mitigate key risks which include the following:

Assist with internal controls and/or audit planning.Document details of planning and walkthrough meetings.Assist in identifying controls to mitigate potential risk factors within assigned process/areas.Assists with developing, documenting, and completing audit test steps in partnership with senior team members.Assist in evaluating controls and in identifying control gaps.Document and maintain sufficient supporting information (such as flowcharts of end-to-end business processes) and facilitate the presentation of findings and conclusions in accordance with work paper standards. Contribute to strengthening and improving the governance, risk and control environment of the organization; share issues, ideas and recommendations with the Internal Audit Manager/Director and Internal Audit teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

The Coordinator should be working towards a degree in Accounting, Information Technology, or Business Administration, and have taken courses in Accounting, Finance, and Auditing. The Coordinator should have the following qualities:

Keen curiosity and desire to learn how things work.Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.Experienced in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Organized, detail-oriented, independent thinker.Dependable and reliable.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Only individuals possessing outstanding character, a high degree of motivation, and the willingness to learn will be selected.  To be considered, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Candidate should be taking upper division courses (junior or senior year).Candidate should express interest in working in a related field that supports financial services, after graduation.Candidate should be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the workplace.Have excellent customer services/client focus, teamwork, and collaboration.Ability to write and communicate effectively and have solid attention to details.Experience in administrative/office support and phone skills.Knowledgeable in using Microsoft Offices including Word, Excel (pivot tables, charts); PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook.Experience in research, analysis and statistical data are a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Regular status updates/check-in.While working on assignments, the Coordinator will be exposed to working in a professional business environment, working with experienced audit managers, and professionals across the company.
