Internal Critical Environment & Safety Sales Specialist - Specialist Internal Product Technical Support

The Opportunity:

The Internal Critical Environment & Safety Sales Specialist is responsible for increasing revenue and profit and supporting the field based Product Specialists and Account Management Teams, in achieving sales & margin targets for VWR UK Critical Environment & Safety business.

MAJOR  JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Consistently achieve IOP for sales and margin in our Critical Environment & Safety portfolioProactive selling of the product ranges including cross selling other products and servicesProvide technical product support to customers and VWR colleaguesCreate, negotiate and follow up quotationsSource new products and manage the market source/TPP workflowParticipate in tenders, and large product lists for quotation to find products and answer technical requirementsEstablishes relationships with suppliers to ensure the best technical and price support for VWRProvides Manager with up to date reports on sales activities and issuesSend samples when requested from customers or through quotations or tendersOrder, register and follow up demo products according to the demo unit management processSend out catalogues, brochures, promotions & manage through AthenaLiaise with local, Regional & Global counterparts within the Critical Environment & Safety business teams and marketing teamsParticipate in supplier trainings and meetingsDevelop and follow up on ZPSP request opportunities with suppliers and the internal ZPSP workflowCreate and follow up new product code set up via ZMMDESEIGNSupport the sales teams with marketing campaignsMonitor competitors and market trends within dedicated product portfolios and build market intelligenceParticipate in customer visits, exhibitions, events and other marketing activities if and when required – 4/5 max a yearSupport your manager in developing a sales forecasts for your portfolio of products as and when requiredUpdating all relevant customer interactions on our CRM system C4CRegular communication with the local sales organisation, highlighting the performance of the product portfolioIn conjunction with Manager sets own goals and takes ownership of same as per VWR PMP processParticipation in local sales training and meetingsPerforms other duties as assigned
 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience & Certifications)

Degree level qualification essential (Science and/or Business discipline)Previous external/internal sales experience is preferred but not essentialProven track record in achieving  targets is preferred but not essential

Good product knowledge, ability to learn quickly and maintains updated knowledge of products and marketSelf motivated, focused & driven individual who can handle rejection positivelyStrong negotiations skillsStrong commercial understanding and knowledge of the market, the competition within and pricing and discount structuresPassion in liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers/manufacturers, a strong team playerIn depth knowledge of procurement, both strategically and operationally, sourcing, market analysis, cost analysis, contract negotiation and supplier performance level service agreements/performance metricsKeen awareness of profitability metrics and steps to maximise sameExcellent time management and multi tasking capabilitiesSelf starter, proactive individual, works on own initiative with minimal supervisionConfident in own decision making abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam player, can deputise for colleagues when requiredIT Literate, proficient in the use of SAP, C4C, Qlickview, and MS Office applications
